There is no wrong doing by DOS by changing the VB, but the timing is wrong. They should have changed it as soon as they released it or else atleast by 25th or 26th to prevent some damage.
Totally agree.. Can you tell which law has been broken by them.

USCIS broke a law last month by not accepting the EB3 Other workers, even when the bulletin said that the numbers were avaible.
But this time , they just did something morally wrong ( that 2 i am not sure, based upon what i have read so far, which are more or less speculations)

This is not going to be a concrete suggestions like the ones seen above in the page 7 of this thread. There is a large India Caucus in the senate (also in House??) and they are well tuned to the reality of situations. I dont mean that these efforts should narrowed down to a particular subpopulation of retrogression victims. This is just a suggestion with good intentions. Even if this India Caucus congress members may not have direct role in immigration bills, I wonder whether they could be used to approach other members with stake in this immigration legislation. I am sorry I dont know anybody in that caucus (wish I did).

My attorney just emailed me, she received receipt notices for 485, EAD and AP for both me and my wife.
My application was received on July 2nd 9:01 AM, if it matters it was signed by R Mickels
I have not seen the notices yet so I dont know what the notice dates are.

Once you abandon H1B and get canadian PR, you will need visitor visa to come back to US. My friend did that he comes quite often to visit us.

I agree there are many issues we have back home but after all it is our country -:)
there is something that pulls me back to and we are also thinking we will go back in the next couple of years. It will not be easy as we love this country too...but then one of the main reasons we are going back is the way is the culture here... I am not very comfortable with the culture here and would like my kids to have the Indian culture...I agree there is a lot of westernization back home too...but I guess there is some hope there still to have a little control on the kids...or help them go the right way...here I am not saying it is wrong...but is a totally different culture....which is what I am not able to digest....
Also, we are alone here no family or extended family and that too is not easy (I think)

The application was filed with CSC as all nos., which I have seen, are WAC nos. EAD was issued from CSC on (and I am guessing here) 18th, left from KY (40701) on 20th Sept (according to post mark) and reached my house on the 22nd Sept. If it was India and if the post man had delivered this to me, I would definitely have given him something for "mithaai" :D
It was only 3 days ago I had got the transfer notice from CSC saying that they had move our cases to TX.
I got the cards directly as my lawyer had not sent me the application no. yet. There were no notices for EADs.
More than me, my wife is happy that she wouldn't have to sit around feeling like a "dependent" ;).
I belive my situation is the same as urs....i received mine and my wife I-485 receipts in mail but nothing related to EAD. My case is also transferred to TSC from California on Sep. 17 as my I140 is approved from TSC.
I want to ask u that how long did it take u to get ur EAD card after u received ur I485 receipt and from where ur EAD was issued, is it from CSC or TSC.
Did u received any receipt of EAD or u jst got the EAD directly.

It seems like the deeper we are in the process of GC the more time we spend tracking and speculating on the next week or the week after.
This week is going to be critical for the Notices because if we don't get them by 8/17 the following weeks are going to be even worse.
I'm tempted to call because of the time that has passed and becasue my checks also are dated 6/15.

I too have been in this country since 1998 and have a priority date of 2004 EB-2.
The one way I cope with the endless stream of bad news from the monthly visa bulletins is by remembering that with every passing day the the reality of having a GC is getting closer and not further. Many times I have contemplated giving it all up and going back to my upper middle class comforts of good old Bangalore, but then I remind myself that I have probably endured most of the pain and quitting at this point is like walking away from a marathon with the finish line only few miles away (or maybe not).
Comapre your GC wait to a marathon and decide if you are too close to the finish line to give it up or if it is so far away that alternate avenues need to be pursued.
Admittedly DOS is moving the finish line like a baby brandishing a new toy, but lets be realistic in assuming that EB India priority dates have been pushed much further back than needed. This maybe a knee jerk reaction due to the July fiasco.
Anyways, all I am trying to say is that hang in there and dont give up. If you still feel depressed seek medical help.
