My I-485 was filed on July 2,2007 as an employment based application. My wife, xxxxxx, application was filed as a derivative applicant. It has been over 4 months and I have not yet got an apointment for finger printing. I called up USCIS and got a response from Nebraska Service center, where my application is currently pending, that my case is waiting for an opening at local ASC.
We, residents of Bay Area, are suffering a lot from fingerprinting backlog, due to presence of few ASCs.
Also, my case was receipted at CSC and transferred back to NSC. Such cases are taking unusually longer for FP appointments. This is quite frustrating as there are other people directly receipted at NSC in August who have got fingerpinting.
I would greatly appreciate if you could take steps to speed up the process of fingerpinting appointments.

I am seeing lot of heat and frustration out here and it is understandable to whole extent. First of all, I am a DC/MD/VA state chapter member and working towards achieving goals of getting GC in one year. Sounds funny right!!!! But it is true. We are working at grass roots with the National Leadership of IV to get things going at individual constituency level. I just posted this on another thread on IV. You might be knowing that DC Metro area should be having thousands of professionals making good money and stuck in this mess!!! Thousands!!! Do you know how many active members we have for this chapter!!! around 160!!!! Do you know how many turn up for weekly chapter meeting!!! 15!!!! But we are fortunate two have these 15 people who are putting their time and effort to talk to lawmakers.... These people also donate money. By the way these people are mix of EB 2 and EB 3. Do not try to create this division of EB2 and EB3. Some of the people running this IV have their green card but they are still putting in their time for you guys to lobby....It just takes 25$ each month to become donor but people don't want to do that. Don't think that IV will show you proof of concept for you to start donating. If you cannot volunteer, just keep quiet and wait for next VB. I also know that people cannot make to state chapter meeting because of commitments, distance etc. Understandable but have they asked state chapter via email what all they can do in their constituency to sort this out......Join State Chapter and see what all IV is doing...You guys have no idea what all is going on behind....If you think you can help...at least start donating and more important....start volunteering with your state chapter....If thousands of us start screaming to our lawmakers office....you will not need money to lobby anymore.....

He got 1 year EAD on 06/30/2008.
This is because they were trying to approve as many EAD cases as possible, so that they can earn money next year too.
They probably did this because its a fee based organisation.

What do you guys think about ROW EB3? Any chance for them folks or are they SOL as well?
I am not sure what SOL stands for.
But I can assure you that EB-3 ROW has very little hope. My estimate was that EB3-ROW's wait times were around 5-6 years.
But now, I have a feeling, that its going to be more like 10+ years. And 10+ years is a long time. Some sort of reform will happen in the next five or six years, and even that reform is not likely to get us greencards, since it may emphasize the family-based applicants.

As soon as we have confirmation of date and time and location/route, I will send out newsletters to all CA, NV, AZ and OR members who wish to participate. This is going to be good.

I personally think GC quota has a rationale behind it. It allows for a reasonable share to go to smaller countries so that the US population maintains its diversity. Besides, near the end of the year, if the numbers are unused, they are rolled over to larger countries like India and China, thereby automatically eliminating the quota.
If the original intend was to promote diversity (whether it is in FB or EB immigration), quota should be based on ethnicity of US population ( GC holders and citizens ). Ceiling should be applicable to countries those have a high percentage of representation in US population. Does India or China constitute a majority in US population ? No way. Indians and Chinese are a minority in US population.
The concept of "diversity" by country is a racially motivated law. It does not promote diversity. In fact it limits diversity.

I mailed mine on May 25 and up to now I haven't gotten anything yet. My lawyer mailed it to NSC and since my I-140 is pending with the TSC, my lawyer said they will just forward it there. It's taking too long. Anybody in the same boat as I am?

Application sent on July 19th to NSC and was recieved on July 20th. Checks not cashed yet, and ofcourse no receipt numbers yet.

But the more I try, i beleive, they r thinking the more scared i am and are being arrogant by not replying to any of my emails or phone calls. My reconciling efforts are giving them wrong hints i beleive. I am definetly stressed about this,thats true, but i am not scared because of all the info i gathered, I know even they do file a suit, I will be on the winning side. though i have option to go directly to DOL or USCIS and can show all the proofs i have regarding the deductions they have made, i haven't made till today just because of the kind of relationship we had earlier and also concerned about other h1bs who r with the company right now. I dont want their GC's to be in jeopardy. but if employer doesn't make the effort from his side, and pulls the thread till it breaks, i can't help it.
