I was told by IO at info pass that my case was with an officer on Aug 05 , got CPO on 25
i had a SLUD on AUG 21 ,

In most cases the next action after CPO mail was within 5-7 business days. So keep your fingers crossed for the welcome mail. Follow the postman for your card arrival.
For me it happend within a span 11 regular days from CPO mail. 5th day after CPO mail, I got welcome notice in the mail and then 6th day from there I got my cards in the mail.
By the way, the online status still stays and it is in post decision activity. That is 12 days after I received my physical cards.

My lawyer sent I-485 docs to Vermont Service Center, which they received on 5th June but No Receipt or No Checks cashed yet.

I agree to the point that: we pay for unemployment , SS tax etc when we ourselves are not eligible for any of that if we continue on H1, in fact we are supposed to exit this country when we loose job!!!

when europeans came here abt 500 years back, natives did not welcome them nor liked them. Now legal immigrants are coming , and you know how they are treated!!
so I guess system is behaving like normal. Its upto us to fight the system...
by demanding GC , we(for us and our generations) are asking for right to apply for citizenship, ultimately a right on the resource of this country(all resources including natural resource). So there has got to be fight/effort to get it. It will not come just doing what we do for living.

My PD is Sep 2002. There are different limits:
Break even limit
Fatigue limit
Endurance limit
I am on last one :)
Ditto here..My PD also sept2002 .
And my I-140 also pending for the past 19 months..
and I dont know what limit I should cross before I get GC ..
may be the country limits and go back to India.

Section 205. Retaining Workers Subject to Green Card Backlog.
This section specifies anyone caught in the backlog would be able to pay $500 to adjust status... So your husband is ok (again, should this SKIL ever become reality)
However, I am confused this section 205 falls into Title II, "Retaining Foreign Workers Educated in the United States". Section 205 does not read like anything to do with a degree in the US..

8/19/2008(Monday) 7 AM: Got "Welcoming the new Permanent resident.." email, saying 485 was approved on 8/18/2008.

I have done the landing and came back to US on Automatic Visa Revalidation as my 797 is valid. No problem at all while entering in Canada. The officer just looked at the permnant resident confirmation paper, ask how much funds I am carrying. I told him I have less than a $1000 but I will be transfering funds if needed. I was not asked to show the proof. Next I went to canadian customs and gave them the goods to follow list. The officer processed that and welcomed me to Canada. The whole process took like 15-20 min. While coming back to US the officer did ask me why I was travelling and what I do in US and I told him I came here to become permanant resident and I am on H1B in US. They asked if I applied for LPR in US and I said yes and it is pending. The CBP officer was aggressive, asked me lots of other question but didn't create any issues while issuing the new I-94. So overall, things went fine.

My attorney sent documents to NSC on July 2nd 10.30 AM
Transferred from NS --> TSC with receipt date Aug 29'th.
My cheques were cashed on Aug 29th. Have not received the receipt numbers physically by psotal mail.
My question to you is " Will TSC send the receipt number documnets directly to me or to my Attorney?"

Did anyone get their physical Cards without getting CPO message ?
I have recd the I-797C Approval notice on the 11th but I have not recd the physical cards as yet. BTW I did not get any welcome e-mail or CPO mail - I directly got 485 Approval e-mail and that is all.

Write letters to Ombudsman, USCIS, DHS, Senators. Keep writing until they listen
Somebody gave a red at "05:13 AM" with comments: "letters..stupid idea?" - I am not here to become famous and become IV-CEO or something :-) so red does not matter. This is height of someone's frustration though ...instead of coming up with some idea - just criticize other's ideas..and that too at 5AM in the morning (or around that time in different timezone)..you must be a manager dude :D

I read it the same way as you. The only difference I see here from provisions in CIR is that this seems to make a distinction between advanced degree holders from US vs outside. Looks like advanced degree holders from US do not have the 3 year restriction. This also seems to be consistent with section 203 where the employer would be allowed to start the GC process for US educated students while they are in OPT stage itself.

AFAIK all 485 filings have to be sent to NSC. Also, does one need to attach the original I-140 approval with I-485 or a copy of it will suffice?
